Designer Trina Turk and her husband launched Trina Turk swimwear in 1995. At the tender age of 11, Turk knew she wanted to design clothing professionally. After graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in apparel design, Turk worked at several companies. She decided to launch her own business so she could design a line of contemporary clothing for women.
Her first clothing line was sold by Barney's New York, Fred Segal, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Since then, Trina Turk has grown into a multi-million dollar business; its wholesale sales topped $40 million in 2009.
Turk introduced swimwear to her collection in 2007 through a license with Apparel Ventures. The swimwear collection is highly influenced from the cocktail party culture as well as the lifestyle of the desert. The must-have silhouettes and vibrant colors represent the brand's style. From one-piece suits to tunics to two-piece bikinis, Trina Turk™'s swimwear brings out the fashionista in every woman.
